Position Overview:
This position will provide an excellent opportunity to learn all facets of the Supply & Logistics business. Motiva Supply & Logistics is composed of 25 equity terminals with product throughput of over 560,000 bbl's per day, along with a crude terminal, an interplant pipeline and control center operations. The organization has approximately 247 employees. The successful candidate will coordinate and provide financial support and governance for all capital projects. This position will act as the focal point for solutions to accounting issues, process design and documentation and ensure the control framework is followed for capital projects. Exposure to senior management will occur through the presentation of monthly capital reviews and other ad hoc assignments. In the near term the successful candidate will also be responsible to coordinate monthly close activities and related results reporting for the Supply & Logistics organization, along with assisting in the development of the annual operating plan. The Analyst directly interfaces with S&L leadership as well as various internal groups and personnel at the equity terminal locations.
Responsibilities:
- Interpretation and application of accounting policy for Fixed Assets
- Drive compliance with Delegation of Authority for capital projects
- Primary focal point for capital versus expense determinations for S&L
- Provide support for all costing to include budget development, latest estimates and value of work done for capital projects
- Lead annual asset verification process for all Motiva equity terminals
- Complete all project administration to include project set-up, project closeout, and asset creation and retirements
- Maintain strong relationships with many key stakeholders and be viewed as a business partner in supporting while pushing for continuous improvements
Special Challenges:
The successful candidate will be expected to perform additional tasks in the absence of the Sr. Finance Analyst, to include:
- As required, lead monthly accounting close process for S&L
- As required, lead monthly variance analysis for the S&L leadership team
- Supports Finance manager and S&L stakeholders on development of the annual business plan
Basic Qualifications:
- Finance or Accounting degree preferred
- SAP knowledge preferred
- Blackline knowledge preferred
